International wellness technology brand Amezcua has introduced a non-powered grounding system, the GX-1 Bio-Reset, as part of efforts to align with the growing global shift toward preventive health and lifestyle-based wellbeing solutions.
The rollout, which coincides with the company’s 20th anniversary, signals the first phase of its 2026 expansion across the Middle East, Central Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa—regions experiencing increased demand for consumer-driven wellness technologies.
In markets such as Nigeria, where healthcare access gaps and rising out-of-pocket costs continue to shape health-seeking behaviour, industry analysts say preventive and complementary wellness solutions are gaining traction.
The country’s beauty and personal care market, valued at approximately $7.8 billion in 2023, is projected to grow at over 17 per cent CAGR in some segments through 2027, reflecting a broader pivot toward holistic health management.Amezcua’s GX-1 is positioned within this context as a non-powered, non-digital wellness product designed for integration into daily routines.
The system does not rely on electricity, batteries or connectivity, a feature that may offer practical advantages in infrastructure-constrained environments.
According to the company, the GX-1 operates through a conductive connection linking a primary mat to a secondary floor contact pad, enabling what is commonly referred to as “grounding” or “earthing” a practice that has attracted growing global interest as a complementary wellness approach.
Chief Executive Officer of QNET, Mattias Mildenborn, said the product reflects evolving health priorities.
“Over the past two decades, we have observed a global shift from reactive healthcare to proactive wellbeing. The GX-1 reflects that transition by offering a simple, non-powered solution designed to integrate seamlessly into modern lifestyles without requiring additional digital dependency,” he said.
Despite increasing consumer interest, Amezcua maintains that the GX-1 is not a medical device and does not provide clinical intervention, positioning it instead as part of a broader lifestyle wellness ecosystem.
Chief Marketing Officer of QNET, Elena Khoo, emphasised the importance of clear product positioning amid heightened regulatory and consumer scrutiny in the wellness sector.
“The wellness sector is evolving rapidly, and consumers are becoming more discerning. Our responsibility is to communicate clearly that grounding is positioned as a complementary lifestyle practice, not a form of medical care or intervention.
Transparency builds long-term trust,” she said. From a materials and compliance standpoint, the company said the GX-1 is manufactured using electroconductive polyurethane (PU) and Thermoplastic Polyester Elastomer (TPE) foam. Independent verification by Bureau Veritas confirmed compliance with the European Union’s REACH chemical safety regulation, with no Substances of Very High Concern identified.
The product is also produced under an ISO 9001:2015-certified quality management system, with materials described as hypoallergenic and suitable for prolonged skin contact.
In terms of use cases, the GX-1 is offered as a dual-mat system, comprising a larger mat for home-based applications, such as sleep or relaxation, and a smaller, portable unit designed for office or travel use. Both units can be connected to create an extended surface area.
The system is available through QNET’s e-commerce platform and authorised distributors across participating markets.
Observers said the GX-1 highlights an emerging category at the intersection of wellness technology and consumer health, products that, while not clinically regulated as medical devices, are increasingly positioned as adjuncts to preventive health strategies.
As Amezcua expands into new markets, the company’s approach underscores a broader industry trend: the localisation of global wellness innovations to address region-specific infrastructure, affordability and accessibility challenges, while navigating the fine line between lifestyle products and regulated healthcare solutions.
