MTN Nigeria is giving back to its customers with the launch of the Mega Billion Promo, a nationwide campaign designed to reward subscribers and support them during challenging economic times. The initiative, which will distribute over N1 billion in cash prizes, was unveiled at the MTN Headquarters in Lagos.

The campaign comes as Nigerians face rising costs of living, with inflation putting pressure on household budgets. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, inflation stood at 24.48 percent in January and softened slightly to 23.18 percent in February.

“In the last couple of years, it’s been a very tough time for Nigerians,” said Onyinye Ikenna-Emeka, MTN’s Chief Marketing Officer. “As a company committed to making our customers’ lives better, we consistently look for ways to achieve this. The Mega Billion Promo is one of those initiatives.”

The 90-day campaign, which began on June 23, aims to create 195 new millionaires. So far, more than 1,500 Nigerians have won a combined total of over N290 million. This includes three jackpot winners and twenty recipients of N5 million each, with hundreds more receiving prizes ranging from N25,000 to N100,000.

How to participate

MTN subscribers aged 18 and above can join by dialling *900#, using the MyMTN app, or texting “MEGA” to 900. Every recharge of ₦100 or more earns a point toward daily and Saturday draws. Recharges can be made through bank apps, VTU, MoMo, or USSD channels.

The prize structure includes daily prizes ranging from N25,000 to n5 million, with a top prize of N10 million in the Saturday Mega Draw. All prizes are paid directly into the winner’s MoMo wallet, which can be activated by dialling *671#. Customers can win multiple times.

To ensure fairness, the promo is managed by independent partners, with daily draws broadcast live on MTN’s social media pages. Winners are contacted directly by the official MTN Call Centre via the official 300 number.

The Mega Billion Promo is a show of gratitude to loyal customers and an effort to strengthen relationships. While the company acknowledges it is not a direct solution to Nigeria’s broader economic difficulties, it hopes the initiative will bring delight and make staying connected more rewarding for millions across the country.
