Irvine Partners, a woman-led African-born creative communications agency with operations in Nigeria, has recorded a major milestone on the global stage as its Chief Executive Officer and founder, Rachel Irvine, secured two of the communications industry’s most prestigious international honours within the same week.

Irvine was named on Campaign UK’s 2026 40 Over 40 list and also earned a place on PRovoke Media’s Innovator 25 EMEA index, recognitions that celebrate outstanding leadership, innovation and influence across the communications industry in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The achievement underscores the growing global relevance of skills and expertise developed in African markets, particularly Nigeria, which is widely regarded as one of the continent’s most competitive and complex communications environments.

Irvine Partners currently works with several leading global brands in Nigeria, including TikTok, Spotify, Uber and Google, providing strategic communications support tailored to local audiences.Speaking on the recognition, Irvine said the awards reflected the agency’s collective growth and the increasing recognition of African communications expertise on the world stage.

“These accolades are less about my own journey and far more about where Irvine Partners is going as a collective,” she said.

“For a long time, the global communications industry treated African agencies as local executors of global strategies.

“What we’ve proven over the past few years is that the technical craft, cultural capital and data frameworks built within our agency are not just scalable for the continent; they are world-class.”

According to her, the strategic thinking, cultural intelligence and analytical capabilities developed in markets such as Nigeria have become critical assets in an increasingly interconnected communications industry.Campaign UK’s 40 Over 40 honours individuals who have demonstrated excellence, leadership and lasting impact within the British media and marketing industry, while PRovoke Media’s Innovator 25 EMEA recognises professionals driving transformation through innovation, data-led approaches and new models of communication.

The recognition follows a successful outing for Irvine Partners at the IN2 SABRE Awards EMEA, where the agency received major honours for its Unicorn School talent development programme and its advanced data analytics capability, while also earning recognition for campaigns executed for clients including Spotify and Uber.Irvine noted that modern clients increasingly demand culturally relevant storytelling supported by measurable business outcomes.

“The PR landscape has fundamentally shifted. Clients no longer want siloed regional strategies; they want intelligent, culturally intuitive storytelling backed by bulletproof analytics that move the business needle,” she said.

“We built our foundations on that exact ethos in highly dynamic markets, and bringing that specific DNA to the UK and EMEA regions is why we are winning.”

She added that the agency’s operating model, built around agility, speed and cultural relevance, mirrors the approach long adopted by successful African agencies navigating demanding markets such as Nigeria.

Founded in Africa and now operating across the UK, Europe and Africa, Irvine Partners specialises in reputation management, strategic communications and brand storytelling for multinational organisations operating in complex markets.
